Andrea Horwath is the new leader of the Ontario New Democrats. She beat out three other caucus members to win the leadership vote held in Hamilton.
Horwath takes over from Howard Hampton who has held the job since the 1990s.
It took three ballots for Horwath to win as she beat out Peter Tabuns in the final round.
Earlier ballots saw challengers Gilles Bisson and Michael Prue drop out of the race.
The party used a preferential voting system that asked voters to rank the candidates in order of preference.
