The City of Winnipeg has put together a proposal for a gas and resource recovery project at the Brady landfill. A request for proposals would be put out... for the capture, collection and use of landfill gas. It would also ask for proposals regarding other potential resources such as compostable materials, wood, wood-waste and cardboard. It's thought an effective recovery project could reduce Winnipeg's greenhouse gas emissions by up to 97-thousand tonnes per year.
