The RCMP officer who tasered Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski five times before his death at Vancouver International Airport two years ago is now suing the CBC for defamation.
Constable Kwesi Millington is suing the public broadcaster over coverage relating to him after November 4th, 2007.
In a writ filed in B.C. Supreme Court, Millington accuses the CBC of seriously damaging his reputation and profession -- the result of which has been "serious embarssment and distress" as well as public ridicule.
Millington has been a particular target for scrutiny among the four mounties involved in the October 2007 incident.
At the inquiry into Dziekanski's death, Millington admitted he fired his Taser five times because the distraught man had threatened the officers with a stapler.
It was Millington's first and only on-duty use of a Taser.
