Canada's jobless rate rose by 2-10th's of a point to 8.6% in October as the economy shed more jobs.
More than 43-thousand jobs were lost last month -- reversing much of the rebound over the past couple of months.
Many economists expected a gain of 10-thousand jobs.
Most of October's losses were in retail and wholesale trade.
Hamilton's jobless rate was 8.4% last month, down from a 3-month average of 9.1%.
