    Royal Preparations Are Nearly Complete

The preparations are just about complete for Thursday's royal visit.

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will be touring Hamilton's Dundurn Castle and HMCS Haida, where they will also celebrate the opening of a new exhibit.

Parks Canada's Alice Willems jokes that they've been "polishing more brass than anyone wants to do again in their lives".

She adds that it will be a "great honor" to have the royal couple here and she urges Hamiltonians to come out and welcome them.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will be at Dundurn Castle on Thursday morning and will plant an oak tree on the grounds.

They will visit the Haida during the lunch hour, helping to unveil a new building that will honor the Second World War destroyer's motor cutter, which saved eight men during the sinking of the HMCS Athabaskan in 1944.
