If you're headed down to the bottle depot, you might consider donating a can for a very good cause.
Alberta Cans for Kids is a new program being introduced by the Alberta Bottle Depot Association. All over the province, more than 200 bottle depots are looking to raise a total of $100,000 over the next year.
ABDA Executive Director Jeff Linton says they've chosen an important charity to support.
"The ongoing funds that are going to be raised, I think we want to focus on kids," Linton explains. "That really the key part of this campaign."
He adds, "Our future and the province's future are in their hands."
The Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation is this year's recipient. The Cans for Kids campaign will chose a difference children's charity every year as part of an ongoing initiative. (scb,sb,blb)
