Recruiting challenges are leading the EPS to cast a wider net this year.
Two members of the force are in Cleveland this week, representing Edmonton at that city's Job Fair.
Sergeant Harold Mahler says they don't have any specific numbers in mind, but are focusing on generating interest in career opportunities in policing in Edmonton.
He adds they're hoping to attract applicants from all different backgrounds and walks of life.
Mahler says this the first time the EPS has gone looking for candidates in the U-S.
