Energy minister says Bill 50 still going ahead

    11/20/2009

The provincial Energy minister says amendments to Bill 50 introduced Thursday will deal with costs, public interest, locations and timelines.
But Mel Knight says the amendments to the power transmission bill will not reopen the argument over whether power transmission is needed.
Knight says one of the big issues was the long term cost of the power transmission lines.
Knight says the amendments will deal with only four transmission projects with a total cost under $4.5 billion.
