The University of Calgary's Harvey Weingarten marked his final major public speech as president of the institution in a big way - on the receiving end of a $39-million donation for the school's Brain Institute.
Weingarten is stepping down in January, and issued his final U of C "report to the community" Friday, accepting the donation from well known Calgary businessman Harley Hotckiss.
The cash is going into an endowment fund for the brain institue named in honor of Hotchkiss.
