Blinded Me With Non-Science

Nothing makes me happier than knowing that Suzanne Sommers and Jenny McCarthy are now the go-to people for the media when it comes to public health. Whether it's Suzanne's comments that Patrick Swayze didn't die from pancreatic cancer, he died from the treatment or McCarthy's insistence that her son's autism (which may not be part of the spectrum disorder) was caused by his diptheria vaccination.
I've been a fan of Playboy since I found my first copy hidden under some boxes in the basement (nice try, Dad) in 1968. I never thought that Hugh Hefner's monthly thrust through the puritanical American barrier that sex is bad would become the training ground for the New England Journal of Medicine.
Who needs a BSc, and MD and years of internship and residency when I can just flash my tits and hope that Adobe can dither the imperfections in Photoshop?
H1N1 mania will only get worse when another two or three young people die suddenly from the body's cytokine storm on the lungs and the anti-vaccination crowd entrench themselves in the public debate that it's better your child die of diptheria, polio, tetanus, smallpox, flu or whatever's in God's plan than possibly develop an autistic spectrum disorder based on Jenny McCarthy's anecdotal story of her son who may, or may not, even have an autistic spectrum disorder. Larry King has room for Jenny and he wouldn't dare book a scientist who might have something to add to the discussion. Who wants to watch a debate?
And Suzanne Sommers is apparently a new Rogers shareholder: there isn't a show on CHFI or 680 News that isn't ready to promote her (free?) appearance at the Metro Convention Centre on Thursday where she'll promote her bioathletical hoopydoopty 100% guaranteed cancer prevention and cure sideshow!! Didn't you know that Patrick Swayze died of the treatment, not the disease? Pay me and learn more!!
But of course to criticize would only be to enrich the conventional medicine leeches like yours truly, who is accused of being an inside agent who uses his radio perch to convince the "sheeple" that the answer likes with ICI, Pfizer, antibiotics, virals and handwashing.
I wouldn't trust me to pick MYSELF up from the airport on time.
And I'm on the inside?
Guess the stupid balances if Suzanne and Jenny are on the outside.

So, do we really have a choice? Has being an "inside agent" helped anyone that YOU know? Perhaps not, but I'll continue to wash my hands and yes I will get the vaccination. Strange days indeed.

I heard you went off on air about this yesterday. Please read the MEDICAL SCIENCE from Dr. Andrew Moulden on this subject. Open your mind, why don't you. Do some good with your air time.
