Toronto leaves home on a high note.

The Raps pulled out an impressive win against Pistons at the ACC tonight, 110-99.

The Standouts:
Andrea Bargnani - 22 points - 12 rebounds (career high)
Hedu Turkoglu - 16 points - 6 assists
Chris Bosh 25 points

Pretty good lines from the big three, but it was the Raptors bench that stole the show tonight. Lead by Jarrett Jack and Antonie Wright the second unit were completely in energetic sync. The group of Amir Johnson, Wright, Jack and Marco Belinelli helped push the Raptors to a 44 point second quarter.

In the post game interviews, Jay Triano mentioned that the team was unselfish. He recalled an incident during the game when he wanted to use Wright. When Wright was called upon he told his coach to keep him on the bench because he felt that the group on the floor was really clicking. Well he was right and the Raptors come up with a big win just before they go out on a west coast road trip.

It was good to see Charles Oakley honoured tonight. He was raw at times but he gave it to you straight whether you liked it or not and I can respect that.

Alvin Williams was also honoured tonight. They Raptors played a video montage, most of which from the 2001 playoffs. It really reminded me on how amazing he played during those two series against the Knicks and Sixers. Like out of his mind good.

I guess the next one to be honoured will be Vince. It’s funny that they plan on doing it in Orlando. Smart move because I am sure Raps fans will be throwing their recorded copies of the 2000 dunk contest on the court if they were to hold it at the ACC.

Anyway, Toronto is off to play New Orleans. I wonder who Jay Triano picks to play against Chris Paul. After tonight, it should Jack, hands down. The kid can ball.

Cheers,
MC
