Banning Blind-Side Hits Not The Answer: Exelby

David Booth was unsuspecting.
Unsuspecting as he passed the puck to Stephen Weiss inside the Flyers blueline.
Unsuspecting when Mike Richards delivered a shoulder to his head, knocking him out of the game and out of the lineup indefinitely with a concussion.
It was the hit that drew the most scrutiny from NHL general managers as they gathered in Toronto to address concerns and issues in the game, but it was ultimately a hit that went unpunished.
Richards was handed a 5-minute major for the hit as well as a game misconduct, but in the end there was no additional penalty from the league in terms of a suspension or fine.
Still, it's exactly that type of blind-side hit that GMs focused in on during their discussions on Wednesday.

Injured Komisarek Remains Out Wednesday

Mike Komisarek remains out of action.
The Leafs defenseman did not practice Wednesday after leaving Tuesday's game against the Wild early in the first period with a suspected leg injury.
Ron Wilson had no update on his condition following Wednesday's practice.
Komisarek left Saturday's against Detroit after two periods when he suffered a charley horse in the first period following a collision with Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi.

Vesa Toskala will more than likely start one game this weekend.
