The Special Investigations Unit is now looking into a crash earlier this week, involving a diplomatic vehicle.
Just before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Toronto police pulled over a vehicle which was travelling in the Bloor Street West and Islington Avenue area.
There was an interaction with those in the vehicle, and the driver left the scene.
Not long afterwards, the same vehicle struck another vehicle, which had diplomatic license plates, in the intersection of Burnamthorpe Road and Dundas Street West.
Another vehicle was also involved in the collision.
The male driver of the diplomatic vehicle was taken to hospital with serious upper body injuries, and a police officer also suffered an injury.
A pair of occupants from the first vehicle were arrested.
