The TTC received 114 complaints about fare inspectors last year.
A Toronto man is rather upset after TTC fare inspectors stopped him on the 501 streetcar and slapped him with a $235 ticket.
It wasn’t the ticket that infuriated Hemil Khandker, but that two hours after receiving the fine, he saw fare inspectors let two women off with a warning for not having proof of payment on the 504 King streetcar.
Khandker wonders if he had been ticketed due to the colour of his skin. He told The Star, “I’m a big brown guy with a big beard. I’m a student, I don’t look like I’m a million bucks. Does that have anything to do with it?”
Did attitude play a factor in him receiving a ticket? Have you been nailed with a ticket on the TTC? What happened?
