The number of vaccines administered by Ontario pharmacies is soon expanding.
As of Dec. 15, vaccines for an additional 13 preventable diseases will be available to anyone over 5-years-old.
The vaccines include:
Some vaccines will be available without a prescription, so patients are asked to talk with their pharmacist before seeing a family doctor or primary care provider.
The flu shot will also remain free of charge at pharmacies in the province.
The expansion is being praised as a convenient alternative to existing practices, as there are more locations and availability evenings and weekends.
