A drop in TTC customer satisfaction numbers over the summer is being linked predominately to broken air conditioners.
Wednesday’s report shows customer approval dropped 10 per cent from the second to third quarter of 2016.
70 per cent of customers were satisfied with service on the TTC during that time, compared to 80 per cent the quarter before.
Compared to the same period last year, 81 per cent of customers were satisfied with the summer service.
“I was disappointed, but not surprised, to see a significant drop in our customer satisfaction score for Q3,” writes TTC CEO Andy Byford in the presentation.
He says the drop “is almost wholly linked to the hot car problems experienced on Line 2 this summer”.
Remedial action plans are currently in the works to repair the AC issue.
In August, Toronto Mayor John Tory accepted Bianca Spence’s challenge to experience the hot cars firsthand.
Alongside Spence, Tory rode the entirety of the Bloor-Danforth line.
