A chartered plane carrying 81 people, including Brazilian soccer team Chapecoense, crashed last night on its way to Colombia early on Monday.
Three Chapecoense players, Alan Luciano Ruschel, Marcos Danilo Padilha and Jakson Ragnar Follmann, are among the six survivors. Goalkeeper Danilo, who had initially been rescued alive, died in hosptial.
The team was to play in a tournament final in Medellin. The South American football federation suspended all games and other activities in light of the accident.
Aviation authorities indicate the pilot declared an emergency on board the aircraft due to an electrical failure.
