New Orleans police say one man is dead and nine others injured following a shooting in the French Quarter.
Officers, working a special event in the area, responded around 1:30am after shots were fired.
Nine victims suffering from gunshot wounds were transported to hospital in varying conditions. One of the males succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Police say a tenth victim suffering a gunshot wound later arrived at an area hospital by private conveyance.
The victims, eight males and two females, range in age from 20 to 37 years old.
Two arrests were made at the scene on charges of illegally carrying weapons.
One of the suspects was identified as a victim in the incident, who was treated for injuries.
The identities of the victims has not yet been released.
