Toronto police say undercover officers came across the man in a pizza shop in the Queensway and High Park area at around 7.30.
It’s being reported that the suspect then attempted to flee the scene in a stolen vehicle and was eventually boxed in by police.
At least three cruisers and an Emergency Task Force vehicle are said to have sustained damaged in the operation.
