Report says Ontario patients should have access to electronic medical records – In a statement, Hoskins says he agrees with a call to give patients access to their electronic medical records. The Liberal government’s privatization czar, Ed Clark, recommends eHealth Ontario’s role be refocused more on service delivery, and says patients should be able to interact with their own personal health information.
Hoskins also advises that there is no plan to sell that health information. “I want to be clear: there will be no sale of people’s personal health information. There cannot be and will not be utilization of it for purposes other than the medical benefit of patients and the health care system, and there will be no sale of the province’s digital health assets. ”

She joins the Oakley Show and tells us that these bills give access to medical records to government bureaucrats, calling the statement “smoke and mirrors”. She says that lack of access to the medical records by healthcare providers creates a barrier to providing proper services.
