Toronto Police say that a 17-year-old boy has been fatally shot in North York.
The victim was identified on Sunday afternoon as Caheem Ramsuchit, who is also known as “Clayshawn” among his family and friends.
Constable David Hopkinson tells Talk Radio AM640 that the incident was initially reported to investigators as a young child being shot around 12 p.m. on Saturday in the area of Shoreham Crescent and Driftwood Avenue near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West.
Investigators were also led to believe that the victim was a 25-year-old man before it was confirmed that he was a teen.
There are no immediate reports of suspects or arrests.
According to Toronto Police this is the city’s 60th homicide in 2016.
