Premier Kathleen Wynne says that she made a mistake with high electricity prices in Ontario.
Wynne spoke at the Ontario Liberal annual general meeting in Ottawa on Saturday where she would go on to say that she does not like the fact that families have had to reduce their consumption and cut costs in others areas like buying food or paying rent.
She also added that “it is unacceptable to see people in Ontario facing that choice and that the government made a mistake. It was my mistake.”
The Premier says she will now start to look at finding ways to reduce the cost of hydro and decrease the burden among consumers across the province.
Rising hydro costs will be one of the main issues discussed leading up to the June 2018 provincial election and since its inception Wynne’s popularity has dropped below 20%.
