American soul and funk singer, Sharon Jones has died at the age of 60.
The announcement was made on Twitter Saturday morning.
Jones took some time off-stage in 2013 after she was diagnosed with Stage 2 pancreatic cancer.
She returned on stage in 2015 after the cancer went into remission, and it was later announced the cancer had returned.
Jones passed away at a New York hospital on Friday, surrounded by friends and band members of her retro-soul band, the Dap-Kings.
