Last week the RCMP said they want more digital powers to aid in investigations. A national poll by the Toronto Star and CBC found that almost 70% of Canadians would give police more digital powers in order to investigate suspects, as long as it is monitored by a judge. How far should we go in giving the police the ability to collect data to investigate crimes, but at the same time preserve our privacy?
