A paramedic was on his way home after work early Thursday morning, in the Steeles Avenue and Yonge Street area, when he came across a damaged vehicle with a man sitting in the front seat.
According to the paramedic, when he got a closer look at the vehicle, the man appeared to be inebriated.
He tells Global News, he yelled at him repeatedly to get out, and he finally did, just minutes before the vehicle burst into flames.
“There was one person who did stop but he was taking video of the car burning. I was shocked by that. There’s a car in flames and all they wanted to do was take pictures of a burning vehicle.”
The man, who has not been identified, appears to be okay. Police are investigating the incident, and at this point, have not laid any charges.
