The Ontario government is seeking input on a basic income pilot project. Hugh Segal, Ontario’s special adviser on the issue, is proposing a basic income of at least $1,320/month. This would replace all other welfare programs, income support programs, tax reductions, etc. to create a basic floor that no one would fall below.
