The Montreal Police are seeing lots of public backlash after they obtained a series of warrants to find out who journalist Patrick Legacé was getting information about the police force from.
The investigators remotely activated his GPS to track where the journalist was going.
Patrick told the Canadian Press Monday, “I was living in the fiction that police officers wouldn’t dare do that, and in the fiction that judges were protecting journalists — and hence the public — against this type of police intrusion. Clearly, I was naive.”
