A worker has died after a wall collapsed at a construction site in east-end Toronto Monday morning.
Toronto police said the incident happened just before 9 a.m. on Pine Crescent near MacLean Avenue just north of Queen Street East in The Beach neighbourhood.
It is believed the worker was building a garage at a residence when the wall collapsed.
Toronto Fire Services was called to free the worker.
Toronto paramedics said a male in his 40s was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In an e-mail to the AM640 newsroom around 2pm, Toronto police confirmed the worker was pronounced dead in hospital. His identity has not yet been released.
The Ministry of Labour continues to investigate.
