A York Region police officer is scheduled to make a court appearance Thursday, on assault and assault with a weapon charges.
The charges were laid earlier this year, by Toronto police, in connection with the arrest of a man back in March, in the Queen and Lisgar Streets area
Constable Michael Partridge, who was suspended with pay, was working in town as part of break-and-enter investigation. It’s alleged he assaulted the man during his arrest, although the extent of the injuries is not known.
It doesn’t appear the injuries were serious, as the Special Investigations Unit was not called in to review the incident.
The 35 year old Partridge is a member of the Canine Unit.
