It’s that time of year again. Toronto Public Health will launch the city’s free flu vaccine clinics on Thursday.
Officials say the shot is the best line of defense against influenza, and the sooner it’s administered, the better.
Some other suggestions to cut down on the risk: wash your hands frequently, try not to touch your eyes, nose and mouth if you haven’t washed your hands, cover coughs and sneezes, stay away from those who are sick, and stay home if you’re not feeling well.
Toronto’s Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Barbara Yaffe, will be getting her shot, at the Toronto Reference Library at 12:30 p.m.
