A new survey reveals that Canadian executives have big concerns about the security of company data online.
Polling company Northstar, which asked 711 business leaders in Canada about their digital practices, found that only 21 per cent feel “fully prepared” to deal with a hack or data leak. Fifty-eight per cent of execs said security is their top concern when it comes to storing company information in the cloud, followed closely by privacy at 47 per cent.
Despite these concerns, 68 per cent said their businesses currently use cloud computing, and 81% stated that it “will play an important role in executing their digital strategy.”
The survey was conducted on behalf of Microsoft Canada, which says it provides cloud computing services to 80 per cent of Fortune 500 companies. Responses were collected earlier this month, and the results are considered accurate within plus or minus five percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
