Clayton Hinkey is asking for an exception to be made by the Edmonton Oilers, after finding out he had the winning 50/50 ticket after the claim deadline.
Hinkey is a single dad who took his four-year-old son Roscoe to the Edmonton Oilers game versus the Buffalo Sabres Sunday night as a birthday present. The duo left during the second period before the draw was made and now the 48-hour collection deadline has passed. Hinkey didn’t realize until four days later on Thursday that he had the winning ticket, which was worth $67,000.
Should an exception be made? Or are rules, rules? Should Hinkey except that he missed the deadline?
