Thousands of students from all over are making their way downtown Toronto for the annual WE Day, which celebrates youth making a difference in their local and global communities.
Tickets are not sold for the day-long event: students must earn their way through service to their community.
World-renowned speakers, including Mike “Pinball” Clemons, Chris Hadfield and Rick Hansen, and performers, including Gord Downie and Macklemore, will share the stage at the Air Canada Centre.
“Every year, more than 200,000 students, from over 10,000 schools around the globe earn their ticket to WE Day through the yearlong WE Schools program, creating positive impact at their schools and in their communities. WE Day Toronto will unite and celebrate thousands of young leaders who are working passionately for the causes they care about most, creating sustainable change on a local and global level.” – Craig Kielburger, co-founder of WE.
