Three Toronto police officers have been charged with assault in connection with an arrest made in February of 2013.
The Special Investigations Unit only learned about the case in August of last year.
Officers arrived a home and arrested a 46 year old man and placed him in the back of a cruiser.
There was an interaction with between the man and the officers on the way to the police station.
It was later determined he had suffered a facial injury.
As a result of the SIU investigation, Constable John Darnell, Constable Piara Dhaliwal, and Constable Adam Morris have been charged with assault causing bodily harm, and are set to appear in court next month.
