A City Hall veteran is eyeing up a potential move to Queen’s Park.
Councillor Shelley Carroll, who has represented Ward 33 for 13 years, has announced that she is to seek the Liberal nomination in the newly formed provincial riding of Don Valley North.
In a release sent out on Tuesday afternoon, Carroll said “I have been fighting for the people of Don Valley North for more than fifteen years as a trustee and a Councillor, i know and love this community. I know its needs and its potential. It’s time for me to bring that knowledge and experience to Queens Park as a proud member of the Liberal Party.”
The next provincial election is set for the spring of 2018 and with the next municipal election slated for fall of that same year.
It’s believed that Carroll intents to stay on as Councillor for Don Valley East for the time being at least.
Carroll is set to make a statement to the media regarding her intentions on Wednesday morning.
