Four schools in Brampton’s north end were put into a hold and secure position on Friday morning.
The move was a precaution as Peel police dealt with a nearby robbery at Kennedy Road North and Ruth Avenue, just after 10:00 A.M.
Heartlake Public Secondary, Conestoga Public School, St. Leonard Separate School, and Notre Dame Catholic Secondary were all temporarily locked down until police secured the area nearby.
A male with a knife robbed a store and escaped on foot northbound.
Peel police are looking for a black male wearing a grayish jacket, jeans and shoulder length dreadlocks.
Anyone with information is asked to call Peel police at 905-453-3311, or Crimestoppers.
