Almost 600,000 Subaru vehicles are being recalled due to a fire hazard.
Certain Legacy and Outback models from 2010 to 2014 have faulty windshield wiper motors that could catch fire.
The manufacturer says motors have the potential to become contaminated which could stop the arms from moving properly disabling the wipers. The result is reduced visibility for a driver on the road and the risk of a crash.
Another issue is the potential for the wiper motor to overheat and melt the bottom cover.
It’s unclear if the problem has caused any fires or injuries.
Dealers will replace the cover at no cost.
