A Global News photographer caught the police chief’s car parked in front of a fire hydrant for more than 40 minutes yesterday.
Police say it was necessary as there a have been an emergency and the chief may have had to leave the venue immediately. Is this a big deal or much ado about nothing?
In a statement emailed to Global News the chief said the force “goes to great lengths to park appropriately.”… “They must also, however, ensure the safety and security of the Chief of Police. If there is no other option, they will park where they need to, in order to provide that safety and security should something happen.”…“The driver was close to the vehicle in the event firefighters needed access to the hydrant.”
Do you think this is okay?
