Two separate incidents caused major travel woes for GO train users on the Lakeshore East and Barrie lines on Tuesday evening.
Around 1,800 commuters were stranded on four trains on the Barrie line, just north of the King City GO station during the evening rush following a gas leak.
Northbound service remains suspended at King City with shuttle buses brought in to ferry passengers to stations further north, however it’s not yet known if the southbound services will be up and running in time for the morning commute.

Meanwhile, passengers on the Lakeshore East line were delayed by more than three hours after a train lost power at around 4:30 p.m. near Ajax.
Riders were forced to stay on board the train before a tow train was dispatched to push the broken down vehicle to the nearest station.
The break down had a major impact on the afternoon commute as subsequent trains were significantly delayed as a result.
