In efforts to improve service and reliability for GO Transit passengers during peak commuting times, bus by-pass shoulders will be added along some portions of Highway 401.
The new shoulders will be added to the eastbound lanes of the highway between Regional Rd. 25 in Milton and the Highway 401/407 interchange, by the end of October.
Those new shoulders will remain in place until the Highway 401 expansion officially opens, which will include the addition of the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in both directions.
“Implementing by-pass shoulders for buses along this stretch of Highway 401 will improve reliability for bus services between Kitchener-Waterloo and Toronto. This is further proof of our government’s commitment to making the daily commute and quality of life better for Ontario families.” – Steven Del Duca, Minister of Transportation.
