Right across Canada, cities will be remembering Terry Fox with his annual fundraising run.
Terry Fox set out on his coast to coast ‘Marathon of Hope’ 36 years ago to raise money for cancer research.
The Marathon began on April 12, 1980, when Fox dipped his right leg in the Atlantic Ocean. Fox was unable to complete the ‘Marathon’, announcing that his cancer had returned and spread to his lungs. He was forced to end his run after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres.
14 regions across Toronto are hosting runs. You can check out terryfox.org for a specific location.
Registration for most of the runs are at 8 this morning.
