An 82 year old was found dead on scene after he was hit by a transport truck near a warehouse parking lot entrance, north of Downsview park.
Toronto police Traffic Services Media Officer Clint Stibbe says the senior was operating an electric wheelchair and tried to pass the truck when he was struck near St. Regis Crescent and Tuscan Gate, north east of Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West.
Toronto police arrived on scene just before 1:00 P.M. along with emergency respondents, paramedic confirmed not long after that the victim had no vital signs.
Roads near Tuscan Gate have been closed in all directions and will be down at least until the early evening as the Toronto police collision reconstruction team investigate.
