It appears a month old pilot project is already showing strong signs of success.
Bike lanes were installed on Bloor Street between Shaw Street and Avenue Road in August, as part of a year-long pilot project, the results of which will be reported to Council late 2017.
From there, a final decision will be made on whether the lanes will become a permanent fixture or not.
According to Bells on Bloor, a cycling advocacy group, just over six-thousand bikes were counted on the lanes over a 24 hour period this week, although the city has not provided any official numbers.
It has indicated that before the lanes were installed, roughly 3,300 cyclists used Bloor Street.
