Its well known to the public now that the director and star of the movie Nate Parker has some dark moments in his past that has given a rather negative connotation to his name.
Parker faced rape allegations back in 1999, he told an audience following a screening of the film at the Merge Summit in Los Angeles “I hurt a lot of women,” … “That was normal for me, in respect to how I treated them emotionally. I was introduced to sex in a certain way.”
The movie has some graphic scenes, and deals with rape and sexual violence.
Can you separate the person from the movie? Or does the personal life of stars affect how we view the art they produce? Should it?
