A coroner’s inquest starts Monday into the shooting death of man during a drug raid six years ago.
Eric Osawe was shot after police entered his Kipling Avenue and Bloor Street apartment early in the morning of September 29, 2010.
The inquest, which will look at the events surrounding the 26 year old’s death, is expected to last ten days.
The jury looking at the case may make some recommendations aimed at preventing similar cases in the future.
Constable David Cavanaugh was initially charged with manslaughter in the case, but that was upgraded to second degree murder. In 2013, a judge ruled there was not enough evidence, and dismissed the case.
