It’s that time of year again. Star seekers armed with their smartphones will try to get their pictures snapped with their favorite celebrity, as the city gets ready to roll out the red carpet for the 41st Toronto International Film Festival.
Numerous celebrities are expected in the city over the next ten days, including Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, Ewan McGregor, Ryan Gosling and Scarlett Johansson.
The festival officially opens with a remake of the 1960 western “The Magnificent Seven.”
Some of the other nearly 400 films which will be screened include “Jackie”, “Snowden” and “The Birth of a Nation.”
The festival, which will close with “The Edge of Seventeen”, runs until the 18th.
Keep in mind, King Street West will be closed between Peter Street and University Avenue until 6:00 a.m. Monday September 19.
No bus or streetcar service will be offered along that stretch of King.
