Brett Ryan, the man accused of killing three people in a crossbow attack in Scarborough last week, made a brief appearance in court on Friday morning.
The case has now been put over until September 23rd.
The hearing lasted less than minute and saw the 35 year old appear via video link, dressed on an orange jumpsuit and holding his hands together in front of him.
He spoke only to tell the court his name.
Ryan is facing three counts of first degree murder in the deaths of his mother Susan Ryan and his two brothers, Christopher and Alexander Ryan.
The three were killed at Susan Ryan’s Lawndale Road home in Scarborough on the 25th of August.
Police say that Susan died as a result of ligature strangulation, while one of the brothers died from a crossbow bolt stab wound to the neck and the other from a single arrowhead stab wound to the neck.
It’s not clear if the bolt and arrow were shot or used as handheld weapons.
