Progressive Conservative candidate Raymond Cho was victorious in the provincial byelection for Scarborough-Rouge River.
Cho defeated Liberal candidate Piragal Thiru by 2429 votes with all 234 polls reporting. This was a riding held by the Liberals ever since its creation in 1999.
The byelection was held to replace former Liberal MPP Bas Balkissoon, and this is a breakthrough for the Tories in the 416.
Toronto Sun editor-in-chief Adrienne Batra explains what Raymond Cho’s victory could mean for the PC Party and the Liberals.
