Toronto police have confirmed that three people are dead following a crossbow attack in Scarborough Village on Thursday afternoon.
Officers first responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of Lawndale and Argo roads, just northwest of Kingston and Markham roads, where the victims were located.
Two were without vital signs while another was seriously injured when officers arrived on scene however all three have since been pronounced dead.
Two males, believed to be in their 20’s, and a female were killed.
Another adult male has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
One person has been taken into custody in connection with the incident and homicide detectives were called in.
In a press conference, Toronto police Detective Sgt. Mike Carbone confirmed that there is a link between this incident and the evacuation on Queens Quay and Lower Simcoe just after 2:00 P.M. on Thursday due to the discovery of a suspicious package.
The Homicide squad are asking for anyone with information to call them, 43 Division, or Crimestoppers.
Roads in the area are closed for the investigation.
