Almost 6,000 strollers sold under the brand name Safety 1st have been recalled by health Canada.
According to the agency, the tray mechanism on the Step n Go Travel Systems strollers can partially disengage on one side when an infant car seat is attached, which poses a fall hazard.
5,787 of the strollers were sold in Canada between May 2015 and June 2016.
Dorel Juvenile Canada, the Mississauga based company that distributes the strollers say they have received eight reports of the trays disengaging but there have been no reports of any injuries as a result of the flaw.
Three models are affected, 01451CCYA, 01451CDGI and 01451CDGJ.
These numbers can be found on a a sewn-in label at the back of the stroller and Health Canada is asking anyone who has one of these models to stop using it with the car seat attached and to contact the company for a free repair kit.
